When professional climbers Shauna Coxsey and Ned Feehally became parents to their daughter Frankie, their world shifted—beautifully, irreversibly, and creatively.
From day one, it was clear that climbing would still be central to their lives. But now, it had a new dimension. As they navigated the early days of parenthood, Ned—never one to sit still for long—began playing with climbing hold designs, driven by curiosity and a desire to give Frankie a space to explore movement on her own terms.
Before she could even walk, Frankie had her very own climbing wall. In fact, it helped her learn to walk.
For Shauna and Ned, both deeply rooted in the climbing world, introducing Frankie to the sport wasn’t about performance or pressure. It was about freedom and exploration. It was about giving her the tools and space to discover movement, build confidence, and develop a love for the outdoors from the comfort of their home.
As Ned crafted, holds that fit little hands, sparked imagination, and joy. Friends and family started asking if they could get their own sets for their little ones. The seed of something bigger had been planted.
And just like that, Mini Beasts Climbing was born.
“I get to fall in love with climbing all over again through Frankie. Seeing Frankie’s passion and love for a sport that has given me so much is a joy I can barely put into words.” – Shauna Coxsey
To help bring the project to life, Shauna and Ned teamed up with Arona Morrison—a long-time climbing coach with over a decade of experience working with children, a degree in sports engineering, a background in product design, and more than 20 years of climbing under her belt. The collaboration felt natural. Shared values, complementary skills, and a deep love for climbing formed the heart of the Mini Beasts team.
Together, they set out on a mission: to make climbing fun, accessible, and inspiring for the smallest adventurers among us.
Every hold is thoughtfully designed to encourage confidence, spark play, and create magical little moments of discovery. It's about turning walls into wild new worlds and helping children find joy in movement.
The Mini Beasts team—Arona, Shauna, Ned, and of course Frankie—are so excited to welcome you into the community. Whether you're a new parent, a climbing family, or just someone curious about climbing, we’re glad you're here.
Together, let’s raise the next generation of climbers—with kindness, curiosity, and joy.
Welcome to mini beasts. Let’s climb.
