fixing guidance

Fixing guidance for your mini beasts climbing holds.

  • Attach climbing holds to a suitable flat surface - at least 18mm thick birch plywood complying to EN 12572:2017
  • Handholds must be attached with 5mm woodscrews, using all the available screw holes. Do not re-use screws as they can be damaged and weakened in use.
  • Use all the available screw holes in each hold.
  • Ensure the screws are long enough to protrude at least 10mm out of the back of the plywood. Be aware that screws may be sticking out of the back of the climbing surface. Set up your climbing surface accordingly to prevent access to the back.
  • Tighten the screws until there is no movement in the hold. Over tightening screws could result in damaging the threaded hole in the plywood, reducing the screws holding strength.
  • These holds are recommended for indoor use only.
  • The handholds should be visually inspected every 3 months to check for signs of damage and wear. Handholds cannot be repaired. If you are in any doubt about their integrity, please remove holds from use and dispose of them in such a way that they cannot be returned to use - in an appropriate waste bin. While polyurethane is a recyclable material, it is not commonly recycled.
  • Handholds can be wiped clean in place, or removed from the climbing surface and hand wash in warm soapy water. Allow to dry fully before returning to use. Do not wash in a dishwasher.
  • Following extensive testing of the materials and handholds, we have established that they comply with EN 12572-3:2017

If you are in any doubt about any of this, please speak to a qualified professional.
